Synopsis

Get ready for a wondrous archaeological journey with this one. Your band will explore planning to find ancient artifacts, excavating in a new land, experiencing hardships, overcoming them, and ultimately finding what it is you seek! The two artifacts mentioned in the very beginning are represented by the Baritone and Mellophone duet. All samples and storyline is flexible and customizable. Movement 2 expresses the lengthy amount of time an expedition of this nature can take, yet the whole ensemble flourishes  near the end because of great leadership. The third movement percussion feature finally explores a change in temperature which was foreshadowed in the opener. The middle of the movement changes texture with wind swells for an emotional sense of "we can do this", but then quickly turns into a dissonant frenzy to signify the climax of the heat. The closer starts off with the last dust off of the artifact(s). This is a great opportunity for the battery to show off a new timbre with dreadlocks. A victorious tempo change soon follows after the artifacts are discovered. Themes from previous movements are here toward the end and is followed by a powerful finish.
